Know Your Objectives

This is a real conversation I had this week.

“What are your objectives for your social media for your business?”

“To get clients.”

“Okay great! What are you doing to get there?”

“Posting 3x a week,”

“Is it working?”

“No, I just don’t think social media works for my target audience.”

🤨

Honestly, at the end of the day, getting new clients should be everyone’s objective. However, it’s how you go about it that can make or break it. Your goals and strategies need to be aligned - and you really need to know how to implement those strategies.

It’s important to break it down into small achievable objectives. Some of these objectives will include:

Brand awareness

Engagement

Link clicks

Leads

Conversions

Social media can help you accomplish all of these things - but it’s important to take the right steps. I’m constantly preaching about moving prospects through your funnel (and FYI - this blog post isn’t going to be any different).

If you’re unfamiliar with the marketing funnel, allow me to explain.

Picture a funnel (wide at the top and skinny at the bottom) - or better yet, I’ll just attach one here. So now.... look at this funnel.

Now imagine screaming from the rooftops to tell anyone and everyone about your business (with some light targeting of course). Everyone that hears about you officially “enters your funnel”. This is the brand awareness stage - also known as Top of Funnel.

Next up - is the Middle of Funnel. This is when your prospects begin expressing interest in your product or service. They do this by following you, engaging with your content, and visiting your website. This is also known as the consideration stage.

At the Bottom of your Funnel is where your prospects convert to clients. This is pretty self-explanatory but this is the time when you’re setting up that sales call to convert them to clients and they’re signing up for you services.

One thing to always remember - not everyone that enters your funnel is going to convert. The goal is to weed out the ones that aren’t ideal clients and provide the right info and solutions to the ones that are.
